Potted Potter Review

November 9, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Last night we attended the Brisbane Powerhouse’s Opening night for Potted Potter. A hilarious Parody of all 7 Harry Potter Books.

7 books in 70 minutes is their slogan and it was loads of fun.

I was a little shocked to see my 2 children were the only ones dressed up in their Hogwarts uniform but then again my children are currently obsessed and it did get one of them up on stage and the other one a free program. (Having cute kids finally pays off)

Is it for adults? Is it for children? Well both actually and you certainly would not be out of place attending without children as I guess-timate that 90% of the audience were adults without kids.

Do you need to know the tale of Harry Potter? Umm yes but not all of it.  I have read 3 books and watched my children watch (walking in and out of room) around 4 movies  and I totally got the jokes. Having just finished a Harry Potter Themed Extravaganza Party for my kids everything was fresh in my mind. If I had never read a book or watched a movie then it would be pointless going unless of course you were to be chaperoning your child or spouse.

The show had a variety of different methods and it was engaging for the kids at all times. My darling little Hermoine got called up on stage to be a Seeker whilst everyone in the audience played a game of Quidditch.

There were no fancy props just the 2 guys on stage and it was great! Not only did the kids laugh so did we.

Highly recommend it for any Harry Potter Fan!

The tickets are a little pricey if you have a family wanting to go, but if you can overcome that then Tickets can be bought here. Shows in Brisbane continue until 16th of November so hurry before you miss out.

If you are crazy into Harry Potter then check out this Party post and also these free tutorials I created for Harry Potter Party Props.
