Movie World Carnivale Review

May 3, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

We were invited to attend and review this years  Movie World Carnivale  and once again we loved it! Some of the big hits were the aerial acrobatics and the street performers. We didn’t watch all of the parade this year as we had seen it previously and we took the opportunity to head to the kids rides where there was little to no line ups.  So what’s different than a normal visit to Movie world? Well the atmosphere, the music and of course the different food.

We bought some old fashioned Lemonade for $10 and we got this cool cup and $3 refills. You could also fill it with Soft drink for free.

Southern Sampler for $30 per person (3 tokens on each card) is well worth the investment. Most meals or snacks are $10 -$15 so you can save a bit of money this way.  My top recommendation for the kids would be the Pizza. It’s so cheesy and delicious and sells for $8. We had the soft shell crab roll which was also nice. We didn’t eat the roll though, just the crab off the top.

I would highly recommend visiting Movie world for a music filled festive night.  Some top tips are to get there early as they open the main gate at 5:30 and you can wait for rides to open at 6.  I don’t know why but the Scooby Doo ride is always busy! If you want to go on that head there first. (It’s extra freaky at night). The drink stand that sells the old fashioned lemonade has more than one counter. Lot’s of people were queuing for it on one side only and I was able to just walk up to the counter on the other side.

Take a rug or your own chair as there is no where to sit and barely a few tables to eat at. Head towards the Scooby doo ride after getting your food as there are lots of food tables that side need the burger cafe.  Lots of people had fold up chairs for the Parade and lots of grandparents were left there to “hold” the place for the evening. I don’t think it’s necessary as there are lots of places to stand and watch.

How much you ask? Adults $25 and kids $10
