This March, Brisbane will host the national premiere season of SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody, the critically acclaimed production that brings all the naughty fun of the notorious best-selling book to life.
Direct from the US, where three productions are currently touring simultaneously SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody will open on March 14th at the Twelfth Night Theatre in Brisbane and it is set to shake the city. It is the parody of the book that took the world by storm, selling over 65 million copies worldwide as the fastest-selling paperback of all time.
SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody is a critically acclaimed production that brings all the naughty fun of the notorious best-selling book to life. Your inner goddess will be laughing out loud with this wicked parody of the illicit love affair between the two main characters as they come to life with sharp-witted comedy, musical numbers and steamy, fun performances from the hunky leading man, plus lots of surprises! It’s an erotic, hilarious adaptation.
Sydney-based Stephen Mahy plays the charming and menacing lead role. Mahy is a distinguished singer, actor and dancer with previous roles including Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys, a favourite in Channel 10’s series I Will Survive, appearances in Channel 7’s City Homicide, and numerous other successful roles on stage across Australia.
Caitlin Berry plays the young and naïve student seduced by the sophisticated and erotic protagonist played by Mahy. Berry has toured Australia with the new musical Doctor Zhivago, and most recently covered the lead role of Nellie Forbush in the smash hit South Pacific.
Leading Australian actress and comedian Rebecca De Unamuno joins them on stage. She has written and worked with some of the best entertainers and writers in the business including Hamish & Andy and Kath & Kim. She was a main cast member of Comedy Inc, acted in Thick as Thieves and has also worked with The Chaser’s War on Everything.
